Choosing the Right Color for You

With so many LipSense colors to choose from, it can seem impossible to choose one or two shades to start with. There are a few things to consider to pick the colors that make your personality pop and make the best of your features.

Start with Your Skin Tone

One of the best ways to decide what color works best for your lips is to start with your skin tone. If you are fair or light skin tone, deep colors and bold reds with work best like Kiss for a Cause for a fun, bright pink or Blu-Red for a Christina Aguilera red look. If you are in the middle or have an olive complexion, you can wear just about anything from Samon to Purple Reign when you pair it with the colors you are wearing.

Your undertone will either be a cool blue or a warmer yellow. You can gauge this by checking the color of the veins on your wrist.

If your veins look blue, then you have a cool undertone and you should look to shades with blue or purple to complement your undertones. Roseberry or Napa are great for you.

If your veins look more green, you have a yellow undertone and should look to warmer colors such as Bombshell or Persimmon.

If you can’t quite tell and it seems you have both green and blue veins, you can consider your skin undertone neutral and you’ll look great in most LipSense shades.Bella and Nude would be good neutrals for you.

Find your Base

You should also pick out a bright color based on the natural color of your lips. If you have pale lips, try Aussie Rose or Praline Rose. If you have naturally red lips, Blu-Red or Strawberry Shortcake are good. If you have darker lips, try Fly Girl Mulled Wine. If you’re not sure, try a color one or two shades deeper than your natural lip color. For just about anyone, First Love or Nude work well.

Go Confidently

Ultimately, there is no such thing as a wrong shade of LipSense as long as you feel great wearing it. Put a skip in your step with a bright shade of pink or orange or wear a bold red for your power coloror your favorite neutral for everyday.

If you purchase several shades and find a color doesn’t work for you, customize it by layering different LipSense colors in your one, two or three layers to create your own custom color. There’s no such thing as a wrong LipSense color.
